Who is
Ms. Lesa?
"When you’re a woman, you take responsibility for your life and for what you want from that life. You recognize the strengths that come with being a woman – your heart, your mind, and your body-and that being a woman means being strong, because you’ll need that strength and often times you'll need to share that strength with others!"

Ms. Lesa is a native Houstonian. Born out of Houston's "Third Ward", Ms Lesa was born to teen parents. She experienced many challenges in her youth life including molestation, depression, low self esteem, physical abuse, bullying and a host of other things. One thing Ms. Lesa remembers is she often thought, if only she would have known- Known about what options she had has a child, what options she had with her life- things would have been different. This is exemplified by the fact that once someone took the time to teach her, she began to excel. From GED to MBA, from working in a service industry to owning the industry! Ms. Lesa is no longer what society calls a "product of your environment". The same girl born to unwed teen parents, that died in the penitentiary walls of Texas, that were smothered by their dependency of crack cocaine, is the same girl that is locally known for her desire to inspire! Serving as the president of 2 Non Profit Organizations, The Chief Operations Officer of a corporation, a Real Estate mogul and a pillar in the South Union Community, it is safe to say, she beat the odds.

Ms Lesa is now driven to empower and encourage our young women that nothing is too hard...You are more than your past, you are more than your neighborhood, you are more than what your parents where and you are MORE than what you think you are!

Time for a quick Lesa Lesson:
"I'm so Hood!!"

Adjective: Someone who is from an inner city and expresses the essence of urban culture. Not to be confused with ghetto because a person can be hood but not ghetto at all. Describing a person as 'hood" can be a positive compliment but describing someone as ghetto is usually derogatory. Many people that are "hood" are successful, classy individuals who not only survived the perils of the inner city but love their hometown and have a desire to make it better for everyone there. -Urban Dictionary
